bible-studying-pen-papger.gifI am a big proponent of Bible reading plans and have used several of them over the years (admittedly, with varying degrees of success).  After a brief tangent at last weeks Band of Brothers, I thought I would search for some reading schedules to post to the site as a resource.  I thought I might even post some feeds.  I came across this page from Crossway (publishers of the ESV).

What an outstanding tool!  On this page you can choose from a variety of reading plans and pick your delivery method:  Subscribe to an RSS feed or daily e-mail, bookmark a web page, or even integrate it with your Google calendar.  You can also do it the 'old fashioned' way and print a list to stick in the front of your Bible.  My personal preference is the Chronological method but you have a bunch of options.  I will be posting at least a couple of links in the resource section of the site and you can check it out here:  ESV Bible Reading Plans

Earlier this week I volunteered for the day at the school of my two youngest kids.  One of my tasks during the day was monitoring the playground.  I am convinced that there are few better places to observe social dynamics than a middle school recess.

I am struck by two seemingly contradictory truths:  The first is that prayer should be the way of life for the believer.  "Like breathing" is the illustration MacArthur used.  The other truth is that prayer is hard work.  Prayer requires both persistence and perseverance.  Colossians 4:2 tells us to "continue steadfastly in prayer".  Jesus told His disciples to "watch and pray" (Mat 26:41).
